When I read the synopsis I was on the fence and thought it was going to have no substance but I was surprised there was some depth.

TGIF is a weekly meme hosted by Ginger at GReads! Each week, Ginger asks a question for her followers to answer and link up. It’s also a chance to provide a re-cap of the past week’s posts. It’s a great way for bloggers to get to know one another a little more.
Q:Promote An Author: Is there a particular author you wish got more recognition? Pick one author & tell us why we should read their work.

A: Jasmine Richards is a new author she wrote The Book of Wonders it was a nice read and at the end I wanted more. Though she’s a debut author I can’t wait to see what she’s capable of. Right now a diamond in the rough there isn’t much body of her work to make comparisons to. The world she created in The Book of Wonders of djinn, ogres, monsters, sorceress, and the conflict brought on by magic being banded. It’s refreshing to see a new spin on an old tale at the moment the trend in YA is shifting from one gimmick to another. So for me the originality of the plot pulled me in not to mention the beautiful cover art. Seeing an author at the beginning of their career is exciting. I can’t wait for book 2 in the series to come out and see what new characters, worlds, and adventure our heroes get into. Hope that answers the question.

Hopping through. I hate when a cover makes a book seem like it will be too flighty.
My Hop
Yeah, this doesn’t look like the sort of book I’d read anyway. I’m more of a supernatural girl, but I totally understand why you would have hesitated. Anyway, new follower to the blog tonight, here’s mine http://kristyberridge.blogspot.com.au/
Hmm, the FF cover you featured looks interesting. It’s the title that makes me think the story would be shallow. Haven’t read it yet.
Here’s my #FF .
That cover is horrible! There’s no way I’d pick up the book based on that. Glad you were pleasantly suprised. New follower. Here’s mine: My FF

I think the cover sends a clear message that apparently doesn’t fit the content. Cover (cheesy, not very meaningful, lacking in depth…maybe FUN on a more positive note).
Happy Friday

Haven’t heard of either of these! But I do like it when a book takes you by surprise when the cover was kind of blah!
